  • PA Governor Wolf's budget: What PA needs to rebuild and grow
    Updated On: Mar 24, 2016

Get on board with Gov. Wolf's proposal

Governor Wolf's proposal is going to save you money, and fund our children's future.  Here's how:

    • Wolf's proposal provides tax forgiveness to benefit 426,000 households.  This means a family of four earning $36,000 or less and a family of six earning $55,400 or less would pay NO state income tax.
    • Wolf's proposal provides sufficient funding and recurring state revenue to restore basic and higher education cuts.  This includes a $400 million increase in basic education funding and more funding for state-related universities.
    • Wolf's proposal provides funding to eliminate school district property taxes for more than 330,000 seniors and disabled citizens by increasing the personal income tax only half a percentage point (3.07% goes to 3.57%)
    • Wolf's proposal increases much needed revenues by enact a long overdue, fair extraction tax on the gas and oil companies.

Our Union's support for Gov. Wolf's budget is a no-brainer.  Together we can change the status quo in Harrisburg. Our state cannot afford another year of Tom Corbett budget policies that cut education funding, increase property taxes and lead to a structural state budget deficit that would exceed $2 billion next year.

We cannot wait any longer to make our voices heard and change the course for Pennsylvania. The time to act is now.  Contact your State Representative and let them know you support Governor Wolf's budget. Call, email and visit your legislator's district offices.
